Beeldend kunstenaarAnnechien Meier verkent landschappelijke en urbane leefgebieden en onderzoekt hoe mensen hierin leven en wonen middels haar kunstprojecten of installaties. (Volks)tuinen staan in haar werk vaak centraal. In algemene zin weerspiegelen deze tuinen de inzichten en waarden van een cultuur, tijd, of plaats.
Central theme of Dutch artist Annechien Meiers' work is the communication between people in urban or rural environments. In my installations, I explore such landscapes and cityscapes, studying how people live and work there. My work often revolves around gardens and allotments. Generally speaking, gardens reflect the ideas and values of a culture, time or place.
Doel
Met dit blog wil ik op nationaal en internationaal niveau informatie uitwisselen en in contact komen met concrete voorbeelden van kleinschalige volkstuin projecten in een urbane omgeving. Het betreft hier het onderzoek naar nieuwe en bestaande mogelijkheden op gebied van permacultuur, daktuinen, balkontuinen, eetbare bloemen en uitheemse gewassen.

Purpose
I aim to use this blog to exchange information about and come in contact with concrete examples of small-scale allotment projects in an urban environment at national and international level. This project involves an exploration of new and existing opportunities in the area of permaculture, rooftop gardens, balcony gardens, edible flowers and exotic crops.
